People are invited to enjoy a special Comedy Bingo night taking place at this year’s Southport Comedy Festival, to raise money for the Community Link Foundation.

The date is being sponsored by Anthony James Estate Agents in Southport.

The fun event will take place at the Festival in the big marquee at Victoria Park in Southport on Friday, 6th October 2023.

The Community Link Foundation is a local charity with a difference; which assists anyone in Southport and the surrounding areas who need financial support in the form of a variety of ways.

Southport Comedy Festival Director Brendan Riley said: “Through Southport Comedy Festival we have always been delighted to do what we can to host events to support local charities such as Help For Heroes, Southport Lifeboat, Claire House children’s hospice, Queenscourt Hospice, Southport Flower Show and others.

“We have always included a strong charitable element to what we do.

“We are really pleased to once again be working alongside Anthony James Estate Agents owners Mark and Lyn Cunningham on this Comedy Bingo night to raise money for the Community Link Foundation.

“A couple of years ago, we worked with Mark and Lyn to stage a charity night at Southport Comedy Festival to thank local NHS workers for all they had done to save people’s lives during the Covid pandemic.

“I am a big believer in the Community Link Foundation and the excellent work it does. The charity has helped so many people within our local community.

“Mark and Lyn have been on board with the charity ever since the day it started and have contributed so much to everything it has achieved.

“Every penny of this Comedy Bingo night will go towards the Community Link Foundation.

“I am sure it will be a very well supported event. We are really looking forward to it!

“We would love to see as many people as possible coming along and having some fun while supporting a superb local charity.

“It is taking place on Friday too, so it will be a brilliant night out.

“It is only a tenner too so it’s great value.”

Mark Cunningham said: “The primary objective of the Community Link Foundation, which was founded By David Barron at Barron Financial Solutions, is to provide much needed support to individuals and local groups in our local community.

“Southport Comedy Festival also provides a welcome date in the annual social calendar where top comedy names are brought to Southport for over two weeks of superb comedy entertainment and fun.

“Anthony James certainly believes in supporting the community and this amazing charity.

“Lyn and I are genuinely proud to support both amazing organisations.
“This year we are also very excited to hold this event on a Friday too! We will be welcoming all clients with plenty of prizes and plenty of laughs.”

Community Link Foundation Chair Enda Rylands said: “We are absolutely delighted that AJ Estates have decided to support the Community Link Foundation by hosting a Comedy Bingo event during the Southport Comedy Festival.

“As a local charity we are reliant on the support of the local business community to enable us to continue our grant giving to individuals and organisations in our community who need it most.

“Mark and Lyn Cunningham and all the team at AJ Estates have been passionate supporters of the charity for many years and we are thrilled that they have chosen the Community Link Foundation to benefit from this event.

“Everyone who attends will be directly supporting the most vulnerable people in our local community and ensuring that the Community Link Foundation can continue to carry out our grant-giving objectives.”

The Comedy Bingo adds to a star-studded line up of comedians for this year’s Southport Comedy Festival which will be held once again in a luxury heated and seated marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees at Victoria Park in Southport.

Irish funnymen and festival favourites Jason Byrne and Jimeoin, world-famous prankster and Lee Nelson creator Simon Brodkin, star of I’m a Celebrity Seann Walsh, Chase star Paul Sinha, Phoenix Nights Clinton Baptiste, King of the one liner and star of Mock the Week Gary Delaney and comedian, podcaster and movie star Tom Davis are already on sale.
