Community Link Foundation has made a donation to the Mayor of Sefton’s Christmas Toy Appeal to enable more gifts to be delivered to children this Christmas.
The appeal aims to deliver as many toys as possible to children across the borough and Community Link Foundation was keen to help and made a donation of £1,500.
Mayor of Sefton, Cllr June Burns, launched the appeal in November and toys, gifts and stocking fillers have been donated by Sefton residents, council staff, partners and community groups. There has also been an online fundraising appeal and the money from Community Link will add to that so more toys can be distributed.
Enda Rylands, chair of Community Link Foundation, said: “It has been such a difficult year and there are so many families who are struggling this year. We wanted to do what we can as a charity to help to provide as many gifts as possible to children in our community.
“We are grateful to everyone who has continued to support us this year and made it possible for us to help local causes such as this.”
The Mayor of Sefton, Cllr June Burns, said: “I have been absolutely delighted by the support we’ve received from our communities across the whole Borough for this year’s toy appeal. The generous donation from the Community Link Foundation will enable us to spread Christmas cheer to even more families in need across the Southport area.”
