Community Link Foundation BOOSTED
BY support from Southport Comedy Festival Charity
Community Link Foundation is delighted to have been chosen as the preferred charirty for Southport Comedy Festival Comedy Workshop Showcase taking place on the final Sunday of this year’s Festival in October.
The event, which takes 10 ordinary individuals adds I comedian with over 20 years professional experience, and gives them 6 weeks to learn the art of stand up comedy and the goal is to raise money for charity. They are then put on stage in front of 250 people and this is the Community Link Comedy Workshop.
David Barron, Chairman of Community Link Foundation explained “we have been in existence for a little over a year and have tremendous support from our local sponsors, and support like this will allow us to take our support for local people even further and we are exceptionally grateful to those who have worked and assisted us in achieving this grant”
Brendan Riley Director of Southport Comedy Festival explained: “There is no better way to raise money than by raising a smile, and that is what we aim to do. We have supported many charities in the past and this year we are delighted to choose this excellent local charity.”
Eve Austin Birchall Blackburn Law said “I would like to thank all those who sponsored me last year, thanks to Bren Riley of The Big Comedy UK for making it possible for me to raise £765.00 for The Community Link Foundation. My first time at Stand Up Comedy … It was such fun albeit on the night I was so nervous performing to paying guests at The Ramada Hotel, Southport. Thanks to Enda Rylands and his wonderful team for their support and enabling this event to be held at The Ramada Hotel. Well done to all those who took part.”
The Southport Comedy Festival takes place every October and this year runs from the15th-25th October with a host of local, national and international comedians appearing at venues across the town.
The Community Link Foundation is the charity for the people of Southport, Formby, Ormskirk, Ainsdale, Burscough, Hesketh Bank, Rufford and Banks, and the communities within these catchment boundaries.
