Southport Business Leaders Network raised £395 for Community Link Foundation at a recent event.
The networking group held an event at Southport Football Club for local business people to attend.
The group, which is sponsored by Birchall Blackburn Law, Moore & Smalley, Watts Commercial Finance, The County Group and MSIF (Merseyside Special Investment Fund) meet every other month. Their aim is to get local businesses together so they can learn about what they do and how local businesses can help and support one another in the future.
As a sponsor of the network, it was Birchall Blackburn’s turn to host September’s event, which was organised by Kerry Snookes and Jennifer McGowan who are both Commercial and Specialist Property Solicitors based at the Southport office.
Kerry is a Trustee and Board Member of Community Link Foundation so as it was Birchall Blackburn Law’s turn to host the event, she chose CLF as the charity for funds raised on the night.
They raised £395 with a raffle and Southport Football Club kindly donated hospitality tickets for a football game which were auctioned off. Lee Forshaw, Commercial Manger at Watts Commercial and John Baybut, Managing Director of Berkley Shaw donated to win the hospitality tickets.
Kerry said: “Community Link Foundation is committed to making a positive difference to the local community by helping and supporting those who need it. It is important to raise the awareness of the charity within the local community and the Southport Business Leaders Network event was a great opportunity to do that.”
