Bucket and Spade Ride 2015

Southport to Blackpool return – 75 mile charity cycle ride Bucket & Spade Cycle will link two of England’s classic seaside resorts: Southport and Blackpool.

The Ride is for amateurs and enthusiasts alike. All riders will cycle in one peloton. Cyclists will ride a minimum of 37 miles to Blackpool, with the option of the return leg to Southport to complete the 75-miler.

Our fundraiser Ron Hutchinson has decided to undertake the challenge and raise money for Community Link along the way and we will be there supporting him all the way.

Ron said “Having completed many charity challenges around the world back in the day, this one will be really tough for me. I haven’t been on a bike for years, my knees are shot and I’m now 60 plus. This ride will be hard for me so it means giving that bit extra and training hard – 75 miles in a day is a real challenge. But it’s for a good cause and after the pain, others will benefit from my efforts. Times are hard but many small donations will amount to a lot, so please dig deep and support this challenge. I won’t let you down!”
