A FABULOUS Only Fools and Horses fundraiser raised thousands of pounds for charity.
Community Link Foundation organised the event which was held at Southport Rugby Club and while the cash is still being counted, it raised over £10,000.
The event was sponsored by Mark and Lyn Cunningham of Anthony James Estate Agents on Hoghton Street. Their incredibly generous donation of £10,000 made the event such a huge success as it meant that all the money raised from ticket sales went directly to the charity.
The fundraising night which was part of Southport Comedy Festival, was called Only Fools and 3 courses as the dinner was served by actors in character from the hit TV programme. There was themed comedy throughout the evening before The deadBeats Band entertained the guests. The evening ended with a disco and plenty of dancing.
Mark Cunningham, of Anthony James Estate Agents, said: “We were delighted to sponsor this event to help Community Link Foundation. Our business is located at the heart of Southport and it is important to us to support people in the area that we live and work in.
“Over the last few years we have seen the great work that Community Link Foundation does so we wanted to show our support. It was a great night and we look forward to the next fundraiser.”
Community Link Foundation gives out grants to support individuals and organisations in Southport, Formby and Ormskirk and the surrounding areas.
Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Anthony James Estate Agents for sponsoring this event – it really made a difference to the success of the night. Thank you very much to everyone who attended the event and offered their support. We had a great night and people can be assured that the money raised will be put to good use in the community.”
