The trustees were delighted to be able to approve a grant to Formby Luncheon Club.
Formby Luncheon Club is a registered charity that provides a two course lunch, 3 days a week to its members aged 65 and over. In practice, most members are over 70 years of age and have various degrees of mobility difficulties. A minibus service to transport those with particular mobility problems is also provided. In addition to providing lunches, other activities e.g. film shows, quizzes and afternoon teas are organised for the members on a fortnightly basis. The Club also provides a meeting place, either at lunch time or during the other activities for many members who live alone, for social interaction which is important for their well-being.
The club applied for funding to host 2 Christmas Lunches in December for vulnerable elderly people in the community.

“On behalf of the Trustees, Volunteers, Drivers, Dorina and myself we would like to thank you for the kind donation of £1,000.00 received on 29 August 2024. Your donation will provide a 2 course Christmas lunch, a glass of wine and tea or coffee for our members, 50 sit down per day on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December 2024. Service will commence at 12.15pm each day. “
