A golf day held by a local charity raised more than £5,000 that will be distributed to local people and organisations.
Community Link Foundation held their third golf day at Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club on May 4. The event, which was generously sponsored by Cintra, attracted teams from all over the country along with plenty of entrants from Southport.
The incredible amount of money raised on the day was a mixture of sponsorship and team entry. There were some very generous donations of prizes for the raffle and this raised more than £700. They also auctioned off a 2017 squad signed Liverpool shirt which sold to the highest bidder for £400.
Will Dexter, CLF Board Member and UK Sales Director of Cintra, said: “The 2017 CLF Charity Golf event was a roaring success. We had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy one of the North West’s best links courses. That said, the slightly windy conditions did leave a few bruised egos when it came to scores!
“We continue to grow this event year on year and this year we enjoyed the day with many golfers from all over the UK with quite a contingent coming up from London to partake in some good Northern hospitality that lasted into the wee hours. The fact that we managed to raise over £5000 whilst enjoying ourselves playing some golf is certainly the way to do it!
“I’d like to thank all of the companies and individuals who supported the day including RBS whose employees helped in the smooth running of the day. In particular I’d like to call out Jim Payne and the S&A golf course for their continued support as well as Cintra Corporation as the main corporate sponsors of the event.”
The day was finished off with a prize presentation and three course evening dinner in the clubhouse.
