A staggering £15,000 has been raised for Community Link Foundation at a darts night.

The event, which was organised by David Barron, was a huge success with 160 people attending the event at the Ramada Hotel on Friday, November 11.

David Barron, an ambassador of Community Link Foundation, organised the event, which was sponsored by Anthony James Estate Agents. Russ Bray compered the evening and dancers provided by GModels entertained the audience.

David Barron said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended and donated so generously, helping us raise such a great amount.

“Special thanks must go to the sponsors – Anthony James Estate Agents – and for the support of Russ Bray, Lisa Hames, Jeff Wall, the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Colin Reader for making the event go so smoothly. The continued support of everyone is very much appreciated.”

There was a nominated darts player on each table with a knockout tournament taking place before the Grand Final which was won by Dan Brown The winner received a trophy and £1,000.

Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “A huge thank you to Dave Barron for organising this event and thanks to everyone else who was involved in the planning.”

“We are very grateful to everyone who bought tables and attended. It was a great night and to raise £15,000 for local good causes is an amazing achievement and I assure you that myself and the other trustees will ensure that these funds go to great causes in the local community.”
