Community Link Foundation has awarded a grant to support a young boy from Southport with complex needs, by funding vital sensory play equipment.

Seven year old Archie Boden who has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is currently on the pathway for ADHD and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), thrives on sensory input, particularly through outdoor activities involving water and sand.

Thanks to the grant, Archie now has access to garden play equipment that helps support his physical and emotional wellbeing.

His mum, Megan, explained how much the equipment means to their family: “Archie is very happy with his items. Thank you so much! He is very active and sensory seeking in his play, and he loves these sensory items. They made him so happy and helped with his regulation of emotions .

“Providing all the sensory equipment my children need is difficult financially. Without help, I would struggle to meet their different needs, especially during the school holidays,” she added. “This will help regulate Archie and bring him great happiness.”

Community Link Foundation’s mission is to support individuals and organisations in the local area who need extra help.

Chair of Community Link Foundation, Enda Rylands, said: “We’re proud to support Archie and his family. Sensory play is such a vital part of development for children with additional needs, and we’re delighted that this equipment is already making a positive impact in his life.”

Community Link Foundation relies on the generosity of its sponsors and fundraising efforts to continue providing life-changing grants like this one.
