The Community Link Foundation was delighted to be able to award grants totalling more than £9000 at a recent meeting of Trustees.
The Community Link Foundation is the charity for the people of Southport, Formby, Ormskirk, Ainsdale, Burscough, Hesketh Bank, Rufford and Banks, and the communities within these catchment boundaries. We have a passion for supporting the people and organisations within our Community and invest in the people who live in it so that we can all be proud of where we live.
Every 3 months the trustees for the foundation meet to review grant applications that have been received, it is never easy for the trustees on the evening as they would love to be in a position to help each and every grant application.
The Community Link foundation relies on the support of the local community to raise funds which it can put to good use in the area. In addition they are supported by a number of organisations who allow Community Link Foundation to undertake fundraising activities at their events, this year these include Merseyrail, Southport Flowershow, Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, Southport Comedy Festival and Churchtown School.
David Barron, Chairperson for the foundation explained “we want to raise as much money as possible for good causes in our local area, we do a good job but have so many opportunities to raise more and need the support of local volunteers to make this happen. We have genuine opportunity to make a difference in our local area but need volunteers to get involved, we need help with administration, bucket collections, ticket sales and lots of other ways. The more volunteers we have the more we can do, this is a community charity”
Amongst those to benefit from grants on this occasion are Divine Days Community Art, Formby CVS, ADHD Foundation, Woodvale and Ainsdale Community Association, Southport RFC World Record Attempt, Theo’s Hope4Sound and individuals including the purchase of special Tandem bike for young lade with downs Syndrome.
Community Link Foundation will continue to raise money for our local community and need the support of the community to allow us to do more. If you are interested in getting involved contact
