Gemini Finance has donated a whopping £20,000 to Community Link Foundation to boost the funds they have available to help people and organisations in the area.
The company, which is based in Southport but covers the whole of the UK, is a leading independent investment and finance company. The owner, Simon Barnfather, first heard of Community Link Foundation around the time of its inception in 2014 and Gemini Finance has supported the charity since then, attending events and being a main sponsor.
Iain Johnson, of Gemini Finance, said: “The reason that we particularly like to support Community Link Foundation is because it’s a local charity that supports local people and local causes. We are ongoing sponsors of CLF but we wanted to do something extra to help the charity and decided to make the donation so they are able to help more of the worthy causes that they support all year round.
“As a local business we feel that it is important to support local causes so Community Link Foundation has always been the perfect fit for us. In the commercial world that we are usually so heavily involved with, it’s really good for us to be able to do something nice. We fully intend to continue to support Community Link Foundation in the future.”
Community Link Foundation covers Southport, Formby, Ormskirk, Burscough, Hesketh Bank, Rufford, Banks and the areas in between and distributes grants to people, organisations and community groups who are in need of funding to improve their lives. They receive applications for grants which are considered by a board of trustees.
Enda Rylands, chair of the board of trustees, said: “This donation from Gemini Finance is really generous and very much appreciated. It will make a real difference to the amount of grants that we are able to give out and this in turn will make a huge difference to people’s lives. The donation that they have made will really help people in this area, so they can be assured that it will be used well by people who really need it.
“We are so grateful to Gemini Finance for their continued support. Without the support of businesses like this, we wouldn’t be able to do anywhere near as much to help people and organisations in the area. Thank you so much from everyone at Community Link Foundation.”
