Community Link Foundation has awarded a grant to an Ormskirk based organisation to host a family fun day.

Trustees of the charity decided at its last meeting to award a grant to Churches Together in Ormskirk to hold a Park Praise Family Fun Day.

The organisation, that enables churches in Ormskirk to work together with the local community, is busy planning the event which will be held on June 30 and is completely free for people to attend.

There will be a BBQ, bands, bouncy castles, miniature train rides, go karts, a climbing wall and much more in Coronation Park. The event takes place every two years and this will be the fifth one that has been held.

The organisers feel that it is important for people to be able to have a really good day out without money restricting what people can do.
Organisers of the event said: “We want to impact people’s lives by showing them that everyone is valued. Treating everyone equally no matter what their circumstances are, who they are or where they have come from. Trying to make a difference and showing that there is a lot of goodness around even though situations can be tough.”

Trustees of Community Link Foundation received the application for a grant to help towards the activities available on the day.

Enda Rylands, chair of the board of trustees, said: “CLF is delighted to be able to help Churches Together in Ormskirk to put on this free event for the benefit of the community. The plans for the day sound great and we are hoping that lots of people will attend and support this event. Well done to the organisers for putting it all together; we wish you every success on the day.”

Community Link Foundation was able to help this grant request due to the generous fundraising of its supporters throughout the year. If you are interested in holding a fundraising event please go to www.clfoundation.co.uk for more information and details of how to get in touch.
