CLF delighted to help Learning Stars

Learning Stars is a community group that works in partnership with the Workers Education Association to support adults living in West Lancashire with a learning disability. We provide education in areas such as art, literacy, music and horticulture with the aim to help people with a disability integrate more fully with the wider community.

2016 is the 200th anniversary of the end of construction of the Leeds/ Liverpool canal and as part of the art project, we are producing a large wallhanging depicting the route of the canal and some of the points of interest along it. We intend to enter the wallhanging in a national competition held by the Victoria and Albert Museum in March.

The grant will allow us to purchase many of the materials, such as embroidery thread, fabric dyes and other materials, for the production of the wallhanging.
