The Community Link Foundation was delighted to be able to assist a grant request from ADHD Foundation with help towards setup costs for a drop in after school club in Southport.

Sandra Scott a director at ADHD, contacted Community link Foundation looking for assistance towards the costs of settiting up the new club in Southport..

The aims of the ADHD Foundation are to give families living with a young person with ADHD and other neuro dusabilities the tools they need to help themselves to manage their ADHD as best they can in order to secure better outcomes in the future. 95% of people in UK Prisons have a neuro disability 65% have ADHD. With early intervention and support these people can go on to achieve in life, and make a valid contribution to society.

The activity will be a drop in after school club for parents and carers to have a chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit whilst their children can play in safety in a separate area at the same premises.

Sandra told Community Link Foundationmember of our staff with be on hand to answer questions and support parents whilst another member of staff and volunteers will be able to work with the children. We having been doing this in Liverpool for some time with many Southport parents traveling weekly to our sessions, this funding will allow us to bring our work to them and set up in Southport

Community Link Foundation chairperson David Barron said “We were delighted to be able to assist in this venture as we can see this providing a real benefit to all ADHD suffers in Southport and their families”
